Hi! We are moving to Brunswick NAS in a couple weeks (yes, we know it is closing). My husband will be working at Bath Ironworks and we will be living in base housing at least until next year. I am trying to set up TV, internet and cell phone service before we move. Any recommendations?? As far as cell phones go I currently use T-mobile here in California. I am wondering if their service/coverage is good in the Brunswick area or if someone else has better service. Do most people use cable or dish? Thanks in advance for any input.

The best coverage in Brunswick is AT&T. I have Verizon and my brother has AT&T the reason he has AT&T is he lives in Brunswick. My phone is very sporadic in Brunswick while his works fine. That is not the case with the rest on Maine but in Brunswick AT&T seems to be best. For cable TV you have one choice, Comcast, unless you go with the dish. For internet you can go with a dish, use Comcast cable internet, or use a wireless connection. We use the cable modem as it's the least expensive.

US Cellular works really good in most of the rest of the state. We had ATT and it didn't work in most of the areas that we went to.

I second US Cellular - I have Verizon and it gets very spotty, especially traveling down peninsulas. Most of the locals who do a lot of remote traveling (contractors and realtors, for example) have all told me that they use US Cellular and it works great.

However, if you'll do a lot of traveling outside of the state, you may want to look into their coverage maps and see how good it is elsewhere.
