Default Moving from NJ to Maine

Hi - I've lived in NJ all my life and am looking to relocate to Maine. I'm looking for peace and quiet and although I've never visited the state I think it would really be a great place to live. I am hoping to move in the Spring of 07. Would love to correspond with Maine residents (especially new residents) about jobs, rentals, etc. Am especially interested in any Property/Casualty Insurance Companies and their locations. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.

Dont come to presque isle the place here sucks. They are business unfriendly and make it hard for anyone to start or do business in the city

If you are looking at P&C carriers, then Presque Isle, Portland, Lewiston/Auburn areas have opportunities. the cost of living will be highest in the greater Portland area,a nd less so in Presque Isle. You can look at the website for Maine Mutual Insurance Company. I have been out of the industry for fifteen years, but there are some opportunities to work in the P&C industry at the company level here.
