A step forward for local paper companies but probably the only thing in the catalog made in the US!
About 50% of the products LL Bean sell are made in the USA. Many of the footwear products are made in the LL Bean factory up in Brunswick...that's Brunswick, Maine.

Where were the paper came from before Newpage got the contract? Do you know for sure that it was not another paper company in Maine.

All products sold by LL Bean it clearly shows where the product was made. Have you ever bought anything from Bean? Are you aware where the things you buy are made?

Do you buy just products made in the USA? If you have purchased any electronic products/appliances .....then you don't.

Is there really anyone who still isn't aware of where most of the items that they purchase are manufactured. I just would like to still have the option of purchasing US made products. I've watched that erode to a pipe dream.

Personally, I'm glad that LL Bean can still purchase items made in Maine and the USA. I applaud them for it, and I do purchase from the outlet in Bangor. They employ many people and pay a reasonable wage compared to other retail outfits.

I think it depends on the product. I drive a Subaru but there is a label on the side window that says it was built in Indiana. I bet lots of folks assume it was made in Japan. Coversly, several GM cars are built in Mexico or Brazil.

IMHO it's not alway easy to know where what your buying was made. I applaud folks who do make the effort and spend the extra money to buy products made in the USA.

Many products are assembled in the USA, but are composed of almost all foreign parts. I suppose that's better than nothing.
