I spent Memorial Day weekend in Maine, a night in Boothbay Harbor and a night in Bar Harbor. I just wanted to stop by and say you have a breathtakingly beautiful state. I love nature and the last time a place made such a strong impression on me was when I went to Alaska. I actually think that both states are very similar: lush forests, impressive cliffs overlooking the ocean, super blue water, beautiful and quaint coastal towns and a very pristine environment. Its too bad I didn't really have time to visit more places, but I'm sure I will be back soon.

Also, everyone I met was super nice, thanks for that!

I just loved Maine! You are very lucky to live in such a wonderful place!

Glad you enjoyed your visit over Memorial Day and hope you get back soon. Not all of our state is like Bar Harbor or Boothbay which mostly exist because of tourism. Go inland and see some of that too. The smaller towns are lovely ie Bridgton, Naples and those towns west of Portland. One of my favorites is Rangeley in the western part of the state.

I know this post is old....but, I have to comment about Maine. My husband and I vacationed in Maine about 5 years ago. Oh my gosh....beautiful state! We stayed in Camden, Bar Harbor (took a trip to Nova Scotia on the CAT), Kennebunk, Wells, Bangor, and then to Portland. I fell in love....
As a Nebraska girl, we just don't have the diversity....coastal villages/towns, forests, seaports, historical cities......

Maine is a national treasure!
