Wink Looking for water front property in Maine

Belgrade or Smithfield - both are very scenic and have very nice people. Another idea would be on North Pond Road in Mercer it is adjacent to Smithfield and right on the water of North Pond. My personal preference would be Belgrade.

You may want to check out Eastport, which sits on the Coast, and overlooks the Bay of Fundy. You can see Campobella Island and other Canadian Islands. It is absolutely beautiful. There are two marinas in Eastport for boat lovers, and a boat shuttle that will take you across the Bay to visit Campobellal Island, which is where President Roosevelt's Historic Summer home is located -- a must see.

Default Ayuh...

we bought a 3BR, 2 BA summer home in Eastport last spring for $70,000....two blocks from the ocean, in the center of town, needs some cosmetics but who can't wield a paintbrush? It's my hometown, so I'm biased, but the people are nice....even to people from away!

Mollysmiles you are absolutely right. People in Eastport are wonderful and will help people, especially newcomers. We are from away and people have been wonderful. We decided to purchase property and become full time residence and people have been great with assisting in moving, locating wood for the winters, assistance with deliveries, stacking wood, and just want to help in any way.
There is no crime in Eastport and no traffic, as well as a family community who take pride in helping each other. The way communities should treat each other and help each other.

I hear there are now GANGS of nude bowlers, but they stay pretty much downtown (near the bowling alley) and only come out at night. If you get too close they throw their balls at you!
