I have lived in Cecil County my entire life, except for some jobs out of the country. It is a great place to live and there is still some farmland left. Harford County is also a nice place to live. Havre de Grace is a beautiful small town along the the river. Housing in Harford County is a bit higher then Cecil County. Stay away from Bel Air if you want to avoid traffic and congestion, can remember sitting in traffic there many times just to go 10 miles, it has grown in the last few years, a lot of housing/apts/condos and the shops to go along with them.

I will be moving to Ft. Monmouth, NJ in the next couple of months, do you have any suggestions of places to live in that area?

I'm so suprised Kingsville has not been mentioned. It's a small rural area tucked between Fallston and Perry Hall and doesnt have any townhomes, apartments, renters, or Section 8 housing that Harford County neighborhoods have such as Edgewood ,Aberdeen, and Joppatowne. It's clearly recognized as one of the safest neighborhoods in Baltimore County. Kingsville has been awarded the best public Elementry school in Baltimore County due to the highest Maryland standardized test scores. Located only 5 minutes from I-95 and 15 minutes from APG it is truly convienent to everything.

I would certainly agree 100% Kingsville is a diamond in the rough. I have been living here for 4 years I have 2 young children and love the school. Kingsville is a close knit community, I certainly feel comfortable when my children are playing outside. If you enjoy that small town feel yet only minutes away from everything Kingsville is the place for you!

What the citizens from Cecil County have forgotten to mention is the widespread acts of racism. Anyone who is at all familiar with Maryland knows Rising Sun is the KKK capital of the East Coast. They have built many new affordable communities in those areas recently, but you can only polish a turd so much...lets call a spade a spade

Haven't been through Northeast that much other than to play golf. I think one of Cecil County's biggest issues is the possible flooding especially in the Port Deposit area.

We also live in Bel air. As for the traffic...I don't think it's bad at all. Plus the conveniences in Bel air are outstanding. Lots of restaurants and shopping. It is a safe area. I have three kids and researched it a lot before we moved here two years ago. We are getting relocated out to Jersey...will be sad to leave this area! They just built a new school called Patterson Mill. It is a middle/high school. The kids in my neighborhood absolutely love the school. The schools in Bel Air are very good and it is a very pretty area. Most of the homes are not on well water or septic.

we will also be moving from Ft. Momouth to APG in 2009 and by 2010 for sure. We have 3 boys who will be in elem.sch, middle, and high sch. I hope to get a teaching job there as well because you can't get a teaching job on Monmouth county unless you've got an "in". I think we are looking at some of the areas mentionned above and also Essex and Sparrows Point.
