Cateyes:

It depends on your price range for Charles County. LaPlata is nice, so is Port Tobacco but you might get sticker shock coming from Texas. Parts of Waldorf are okay but not great. Where are you looking in Charles County?

hmmm ... I don't know if I would call any school system "great" in Charles County. Although, I do recall reading somewhere that scores were up. Google "southern maryland newspapers", select the one that says "the Independent" and search on there.

I have heard good things about LaPlata, but again, there's sticker shock probably coming from Texas. do a realtor.com search on Maryland, LaPlata, and in the advanced options check off all the surrounding areas except Waldorf.
