What do you think of Fort Washington/Accokeek, MD? You can get a pretty nice home in Acco for price of a decent place in say Bowie. I was impressed with some of their rentals w/options.

There is a stunning house on the water in Riviera Beach/Pasadena for $2,500 a month which includes utilities right now. Pasadena is as diverse as you can get IMO. My best friend from school lived in this house until 1999 and it's huge!

In MD, when it comes to (willing and indiscriminately accepting) diversity, MoCo and from what I heard, Columbia, are the best (and IMO, only) bets for seeing people from all races living together. I would especially look into living in Northern Virginia if you really want to see an immense amount of affable and consensual racial integration.

Not just Columbia, though. In Howard County, Elkridge and Ellicott City are also very diverse- I live in Elkridge almost across the street from Ellicott City and my neighborhood is a great mix of people. I only mention those 2 cities, because they are what I'm most familiar with in Howard County.
