What's it like to live in mount airy? how are the schools? crime? etc? would you recommend it?

Nice quiet community. Slower pace than Westminster, but typical Carroll County mentality (slow, easy going).

I used to live in Mt. Airy, now i'm in tucson, but i did go back last summer. and to me it had grown up a lot

The area right off of I-70 has developed quite a bit (commercially), but the surrounding community is still very much farmland.

Stopped there on a trip back from Lexington SC. Some of the nicest people
I have ever seen. Very slow pace and all the towns people know each other. We ate at a little place called Snappy's I believe and the atmospehere reminded me of what you think Mayberry was really like. This is what we were hoping to find in SC. The only trick is finding work. I think you would need to travel into Winston Salem to find something depending on what you do. However, if nice people and a charming small town is what you crave, you will find it there. |
