If you mean Rawlings in Allegany County you would be in the Allegany High School district, Braddock Middle (I think) I don't know the elementary. The schools in Allegany County are OK. They are safe and have a good selection of AP classes and honor work. The negative is that the county is poor so the school buildings are very old. (Allegany High was built in 1920) the text books are out of date, the labs are ill-equipped, etc. The bigger issue is that the county school board and the residents are far more concerned with sports that education. For instance as poor as our county is, we have a 10,000 person high school football stadium with state-of-the-art field turf and nice large inflatable helmets for the players to run through. This is not all school board money, but it does indicate the priority of both private donors and the kind of funds the governments officials shoot for.
I would recommend Bishop Walsh school in Cumberland. It is K-12, and the focus is really on academics and college prep is not just an option, but the only path. It is not just for Catholics, there are Protestants, Jewish folks, Muslims, Hindus, etc. The school is for anyone who is focused on getting their child a top education. It is cheap too. Only about 5k a year. Give it a look.
