![]() Ok, I've looked up and down the east coast from georgia to maine and back, and i think that I may finally have found the right spot. Me and my wife are young (20's) small town kind of people that have a passion for art, and professions that require ocean access. I had originally been told Salisbury,MD. But upon checking the forums saw that there apparently is more crime then is being reported. For example, we come from cape cod originally. We grew up there. I can't remember ever worrying about locking my car all the time. I really want to find that feeling again (let's just say that currently we are in florida, and that it hasn't strengthened my faith in the essential goodness of people). We can't afford the cape (who can?) and were looking for a place to start a family and raise kids the right way, with plenty of things for them to do so that trouble can't find them. So, as I was saying Salisbury sounded great at first, and still does to a degree. However I think that a good compromise would be somewhere closer to the a little closer to the water without being too close as to be wrapped up in the touristy area or sucked into the price hikes that go with being SO close to the water. A compromise, as I said, is what I'm looking for. . .If given the choice I'd rather pay a little more to be able to live in the ideal spot. So tell me about those tweener towns! PARSONSBURG,PITTSVILLE, WILLARDS, WHALEYVILLE, OCEAN PINES, AND BERLIN. All info is good info! thank you for your time! |

Bishopville, Berlin, and Snow Hill are all very charming. Sounds like these may be areas of interest for you. My husband and I are young as well and moved here several years ago from the DC suburbs. My husband grew up here. WE are happy we made the move. The area has a great hometown feel and we have made some great friends. I am a realtor in the area and can help you out if necessary. Check out my website, the local links section for more info on the area--lowershoreproperty.com Feel free to email me if you want!

Berlin and Snow Hill are both good choices. My bias is that the schools in Berlin are better and the town is definitely family oriented. Prices are a little higher than Snow Hill due to being closer to the ocean and the amenities in the town. I would also choose Worcester County ie. Snow Hill, Berlin, Whaleyville, over Wicomico County ie. Powellville, Willards or Salisbury.
