Hello- I'm moving to from CA to Md (got a job in DC) in the next couple of months. I'm trying to decide where to settle and hopefully you folks can lend a hand. Here are some questions and criteria: 1) Which has better ranking schools? I got a 4 yr old that will be going to Kinder next year. 2) Which has safer neighborhoods, greater parks and etc..? 3) I'm planning to commute to DC which offers better public transportation? 4) I'll be renting for a little while. Rockville (to the west of it mostly) wins 3 out of 4. Both have Metro. Driving from Silver Spring would be better.

You're going to have to look up individual schools, but they're very good in Montgomery county. Most in the areas I mentioned previously would be very good.
