Default White Marsh/HELP

I am so lost.
We're looking into moving into the White Marsh area within a month or so. We have small children (2 years old), but we will be living in that area for a few years at least. So, I don't know where to start, how to find out what places are nice to live in.Our Home price range in mid 400's, I have heard about Bel Air, but really, I don't know how far is that driving from white marsh I don't know anything about Bel air except that someone I don't know said 'Look at finding a home in Bel Air and commute to white marsh.' I guess what I am asking is to find what areas near white marsh are nice, safe, nice/good daycares/schools etc, family-oriented and within our price range. Please help.
Thank you.

I would highly recommend the Perry Hall (zip code 21128) area. It is right next to White Marsh, but a bit more upscale. You will be able to find plenty of homes available in the mid $400,000 range. Most of the homes in Perry Hall/the Honeygo area are new (built in 1998 or sooner). If you don't mind a townhouse, they are still building brand new ones in the Honeygo Village Center ([url]removed/url]) from the mid $300,000's and they are within "true" walking distance to a brand new shopping center, which includes a reputable daycare center, as well as a dentist, grocery store, bank, and several restaurants. These townhomes have attached 2 car garages and are in a very nice, unique, and well-planned urban community. If you would prefer a single family home, most of the brand new (custom built) ones are going to be in the $600,000 area up to and over $1,000,000. There are some resale, smaller single familys available ranging from the mid to upper $400,000's to the high $500,000's. I would recommend using the website www.homesdatabase.com/kwalsh to search for what exactly is available.

The town of Bel Air, MD (zip codes 21014 and 21015) is actually in Harford County, as White Marsh and Perry Hall are both in Baltimore County. Typically, Bel Air is going to be slightly less expensive, but the area is not as upscale. Bel Air is about a 20-25 minute drive from the White Marsh/Perry Hall area.

Also, Perry Hall has an EXCELLENT school district. White Marsh has a different school district than Perry Hall, even though they are so close to each other. (White Marsh is predominanently commercial - two malls and several shopping centers - as Perry Hall is predominanently residential). Therefore, obviously, Bel Air will also have another school district. Perry Hall's is the best out of the three towns.

Hope this helped.

Just FYI, for all intents and purposes, Maryland separates its schools by COUNTIES, not districts. Baltimore County Public School "district" encompasses the entire horsehoe that surrounds the city. It's huge. The closer you get to the city/county line, the more of an urban flavor you are going to get in the schools, even though it's the "county", not Baltimore City. The schools in Lansdowne (SE Balto. County) are very different than the ones in Towson/Perry Hall, even though they are in the same "district".

Default both are nice

Belair is great but the driving is a pain since there is one major route to everyting. There is however everything to to there. Same for whitemarsh. Belair is only a 20 minute commute to whitemarsh and you have 3 ways to go home if there is an accident on the freeway. Nottingham and Jerusalem are in between and are both nice as well
