Help for Pre approved car loan (for sale, credit check, loans)

Hi,

We are moving to MD area in the month of December and am looking to buy a car immediately after coming there. If I remember, earlier there used to be a couple of good websites from where you can get pre-approved car loans from different agencies just with one credit check ( that way your score wouldn't decrease much compared to many agencies checking). I have a couple of questions and hopefully someone can help me in this regard.

1. Its been long enough, so I dont remember what those websites were, so I was just wondering if anyone can advise me of a good website that can give quotes from different agencies with one credit check.

2. Also, my new job start date would be Jan 5. but am moving bit early around Dec. 17 to MD area to settle. So, I wont be having a pay check until Jan. 31. So, was just wondering , can I still buy a car in Dec. without current pay check? Orelse, can I open an account with one of my credit unions in CA before coming here, and apply for car loan in MD with that?

Unfortunately, I do not meet any of the criteria to become a member. Is there any other option?

You can join PenFed by paying $15 or $20 to join Voice of America's Troops or National Military Family Association. All that is required to join one of those two is the fee associations is the fee. Once you're a member of either of these, you're a member of PenFed. That's how I joined and it was simple. The small fee was definitely worth it. Here's a link

I got a pre-approved auto loan through them and I didn't submit check stubs or anything. I've bought my last three cars with pre-approved loans through them and they've always had the lowest rates.

Capital One Blank Check for auto loans is one, and of course, Lending Tree will help, too. I seem to recall Road Loans will do it, too. I've used Capital One in the past, though theri requiremtns have changed (like most lenders, they tightened up the requirements to the car having to be 7 years old or newwer and under 70k miles, and only for sale at a primary (Ford, VW, GM, Audi, Honda, etc) dealer or private party. No used car lots or wholesalers)
