I am thinking of relocating from Philadelphia (but will continue to work in Philadelphia as long as possible as jobs are pretty scarce).

I am just toying with the thought of taking a yearlong rental at some beach property (open to Rehoboth, Fenwick, Lewes, etc.). and commuting to/from Philadelphia.

Question:
Is it possible to take public transportation (with some driving of course!) from the shore points to the Amtrak Train stations at say, Wilmington or BWI?

I see there are park and rides at Rehoboth but I was wondering if there are other options.

I wouldn't have to commute daily (can work from home as well) but wonder if it really is just not feasible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No transit options that I know of. DART used to run a bus from Wilmington to Rehoboth park and ride during the summer months but I don't think they do any longer.

It's longer than I would make. Maybe if you could 80% telecommute it would be ok. But it's 2 hours plus each way - thats 20 hours a week! Almost an entire day.

Just from Rehoboth to BWI is 2 and a half hours, so don't think that would work.

Driving the whole way from Rehoboth to Philly you're looking at at least 2 and a half hours as well, so I guess it depends on your tolerance level.

Maybe somehwere kinda in the middle like Dover? Or if you're still going to work in Philly and are even considering the Eastern Shore of MD/DE, have you considered the Jersey Shore? Can probably do OCNJ to Philly in about an hour and a half.

There are a few very quiet coastal communities on the Delaware Bay that might be quicker. Little Creek DE might be a good compromise? Can easily get on Rt 1 there.
