Recommendation for a good dentist in Howard County (Ellicott City, Frederick: insurance, live in)

Hi All:

I am looking for a good dentist in my area. I live in Glenwood and have recently moved here. I have had several procedures before, so I need someone knowledgeable who won't rip me off! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

No I wish I could have but I live in Frederick and that is just a little too far to drive to the dentist. Most of my friends in that area have gone to him though, and they have great looking, healthy teeth and have only positive things to say. I can testify to the fact though that he is a nice, honest person who I would trust with my teeth if I could.

My family goes to Dr. Sharkey. I don't have dental insurance, being self-employed, not something given to me =) hehe. One of my good friends is a dental assistant at this office. I noticed some more people I knew went there as well. So I gave it a shot. I really didn't want to blow a whole lot of money on my families dental visits. I was pretty satisfied with the service and the price I paid.

Dr. Sharkey is in Ellicott City off of Rogers Ave behind the bank.

I've never had any "major" work. I did get x-rays and a filling though. =)
Last time I visited, I was talking with someone else waiting for their appointment and they drove all the way from Delaware. I asked why, and she said when you find a good dentist, you need to stay with them. So, I felt pretty comfortable with my choice.

Hello Anu -

I highly recommend Dr. Vance in Ellicott City. He has all the latest technology and is knowledgeable, gentle and very honest. He has been my dentist for 16 years.
