You're taking this too much to heart. hitek said that Blacks in DC resemble the Blacks in the South in that they ride crown vics, are friendly, have manners, and enjoy good down home cooking. That's not the DC I know. That's what my posts have been all about.

D.C. is a southern city....

Spade is right, a lot of us Simply do not ID with the South, so get over it all ready.

Well, no... I think you are taking a rap video to heart too much. That is a very narrow view in a single video and not representative of African-American opinion as a whole... in my opinion.

It's a better decision than repeating what I and many others have said for the past 31 pages and well over 20 threads on this board, yes.

Fine. The bottom line is that many blacks in the South do not identify with DC and AA's in Miami do identify themselves as Southerners. BTW, I do not beleive it was a narrow view. But it is just a voice that is part of our culture that is pretty significant.

Yup, after 30 pages, some guy from Miami shows up and posts a rap video that tells us everything we need to know about the South, African American identity, the State of Maryland, Washington D.C. It was all so easy, why didn't we think of this before?

If you're talking about me. I'm not from Miami. I am from Texas. I lived in DC the last five years and was here before then because I have a good bit of family in the DC area and only recently moved to Chicago a few months ago from DC. I only posted the video because somebody said that he never heard anyone from Miami claim they are Southern. You took hitek's view positively because he offered a Northern perspective. I'm giving you what I and many others and the South believes.
