Yuraku's, Germantown - Great sushi rolls. I knew I was in the right place when I noticed I was one of the only non-Asians there!

Chick and Ruths-old fashion diner, downtown Annapolis. Most people don't realize this hidden treasure, they have everything and it is soo delicious!

Where can you find the best crab cakes and crab near Washington DC area? We will be staying near Dulles, Gaitherburg and Columbia in late September. Is September crab season there?

Cantler's Riverside Inn---I think it would be considered Annapolis, but definitely off the beaten path. Love the crabs, on the water, it's an experience.
Harris--Kent Narrows, another crab shack
Hunan Rose--Odenton. Chinese food. Love the waterboys (my glass is always full, a pet peeve of mine) and the hot washcloths. Yummy
Vince's Deli--Crofton, Italian deli/carryout
Second Chick and Ruth's in Annapolis

For Vegatarian or Organic Cusines, Vegatable Garden and Yuan Fu restuarants in Rockville both offer superb Asian cusines with no meat and all organic ingredients.

Best Crabcakes
Stoney's - either Broomes Island or on Solomons. Big, huge, crabcakes with barely any filler and cooked to perfection. Washington Post reviewed them awhile back as one of the best in the metro area. Sure, it's off the beaten path, but boy is it worth it.

Anyone been to...
Timbuktu in Hanover? Crab cakes were pretty good, but I have only eaten them at Phillips so I don't know how they compare with other seafood places.

Man oh man.. I hate to share this one... The place is already busy enough for dinner (thank God they do carry out)
Jads Caddy Shack in Essex ( Back River Neck Rd.) I don't care what anyone says, IMO they have the BEST Cream of Crab soup I've been able to find, and when they put it in that bread bowl, with all of the huge lumps of crab meat and peferct amount of Sherry, its a meal in itself. Yummmmm ! If it weren't so bloody hot, I'd drive over there and grab some now.
And just so the place doesn't become even more of a hot spot, I'll say that everything else they serve is terrible and incredibly overpriced *wink & grin* Shhhhh !
