Philip's, a famous Baltimore restaurant, has a place in gaithersburg/Rockville around Shady Grove Hospital. Not sure the exact shopping center but its near Darnestown Road...just Google Philip's and they should have a list of locations. I'm been to their location in Baltimore on the inner harbor and its AMAZING. Even the one in BWI Airport was excellent with their crab omlettes.

And also want to add another restaurant...Jake's Seafood House. I only went to the location in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware but the place started out in Baltimore so the original must be just as good if not better. Best restaurant ever.

Timbuktu's crab cakes are out of this world. They are very large and I can never finish it all.........and I can eat!

Crisfield's on Georgia Ave. also has a good crab cake.....and may I also recommend the Seafood Bisque and the Rum Cake (it will leave your tongue tingling) Yummy!!

Jerry's Seafood on Lanham Severn Rd. in MD has a delicious crab cake and so is everything else.

Happy Crab Cake eating!

This post makes me hungry.
One I just thought of, that I can't remember if I posted before is a great little Italian place, that almost no one knows about. It's called Avanti's- and it's in either Jessup or Columbia on Rte. 1 and Guilford Rd. It's really excellent- I actually had my rehearsal dinner there, my in laws have been going there for decades. I don't think many people realize it's there, so it's never crowded- but everyone I know who's eaten there has loved it. Most of the places near us, you can't go to on a Saturday or Friday night without waiting, so we love it!

Found a great Italian Place in Laurel off of Van Dusen across from the hospital. It's Pasta Nostra. Very out of the way little place. Use to go to Pasta Plus but you had to wait forever to get in. Got a coupon in the mail for Pasta Nostra and decided to try it out. Its located in a little strip mall and when we walked in, it had a order counter like a fast food place and there were maybe only 2 or 3 tables with customers. Not a good first impression. But, the menu was extensive and fairly priced. When we got our food, that's when any negative thoughts left our heads. The food was the best!!! We go back all the time now and recommend it to others. The secret is out though and the place is doing much more business.

I Love the Sip N Bite in Baltimore! Classic diner setting, fabulous Cheesesteaks. It's my flavorite salivation station.

Thumbs up Best Maryland Restaurants

We live in Annapolis and my recs for that city are to stay off the tourist route and go down West St. to Tsunami (Pan-asian), Lemongrass (Thai) or the Metropolitan (best food in Annapolis, elegant and luxurious setting). Yin-Yankee and Joss are closer to Tourist Central but are also good. Also well-regarded in Annapolis and off the beaten path is the Wild Orchid (cozy/quaint), Les Follies (superb french) Jalapenos (Spanish/Mex), Lewnes (steak), Boathouse (boat casual), Carrolls Creek (seafood). Avoid waterfront places but if you must go, try Yellowfin on the South River for the best view at sunset. For good food and great waterfront seating, try Skippers Pier in Deale. Great new owner and chef in this undiscovered gem!

In Baltimore I loved The Bicycle, Pazo, and Peter's (a little place in Fell's Point).

In Harford County - Laurrapin Grill in Havre de Grace is awesome!!!
