Roy's in old town Gaithersburg - I think they have like 200 hundred sandwiches. The wait staff there knows them all too... i.e. you say I want #172... and they'll tell you what you ordered.

Mama Lucias - technically its a local chain since they have like 5 locations now. But its great home cooked Italian.

Olive Grove - take Olive Garden... but make it actually good and home cooked. Some say the crab cakes are better than G&M's.

Ambrosia - One of the best greek places. Two locations in Rockville (by old town and another by the super giant).

Good fortune in Wheaton and Oriental East in Silver Spring - best Dim Sum in MD.

Another great Chines place is in Gaithersburg on 355 just north of the Food lion. I don't remember the name... but its got one of the best northern cuisine.

Penang - Bethesda, MD - Malaysian (can also be considered a chain since they have other locations in the US.. but not exactly a Chili's)

And about 200 brands of beer as well - wow I had not thought of them in years!

My favorite Chinese place in Frederick is Hunan Gourmet on West 7th Street. It's in a strip mall and doesn't look like much inside or out, but the food is great. It's an especially great place to go with a vegetarian or mixed veg/non-veg group, because the menu has a LOT of choices for both.

Nicaros in downtown Silver Spring. Its a fabulous new restaurant with a great chef and not too pricey. My office just went there and every one raved about everything they had.

YESS! The location on Broome's is my fave. The oversized solid backfin crabcakes (fried or broiled) will feed two with a side order of steamed shrimp.

I'm a big fan of the Honey Bee in Glen Burnie. Great greasy-spoon diner, fast and friendly service cooked fresh. Great pancakes.

Udupi Palace in Langley Park - south Indian vegetarian; they have a sister non-veg restaurant, Tiffin, next door (and another sister restaurant in Chicago). I've heard that Woodlands (also South Indian in Langley Park) is very good as well, but I've never been there (they have another location in Gaithersburg?).

For soft serve ice cream, Jimmie Cone in Damascus. And for a seasonal summer treat, the pick-your-own blackberries at Butlers Orchard in Germantown.

Sounds great. Just like Tasty Diner in Laurel. Where's it located at? Sounds like a good place for breakfast.
