Default Crofton Triangle

Thoughts on living in the Crofton Triangle. Does anyone know of any FSBO homes in the triangle? Thanks in advance.

I live just outside of the Crofton Triangle. What do you want to know? Love the whole area, clean, virtually crimefree--especially along the parkway itself. As a matter of fact, the front page news on the local paper is we need to toughen up on dogleashing laws . Close to shopping, etc. I was considering moving and investigated moving all over the country (I telecommute) and realized it doesn't get much better than this. MD has issues, sure. But I love the location. Crofton's not perfect, but close enough for me anyway

All that being said, traffic is an issue depending on where you're heading and housing is still pretty high, but I guess that depends on where you're coming from. What price range are you looking for? Are you intent on staying in the triangle? B/c there are several beautiful neighborhoods outside the triangle as well. I'm not an agent, but would be happy to share what I know from living here the past 13 years.

Default Crofton Parkway

Thanks for your thoughts. What streets define the parkway? We were hoping to stay in the triangle if possible. Housing prices do seem high. Finding a home FSBO is appealing since we would be able to get in for a little less by saving the seller 6%. How much do you have to spend to get into a 3 or 4 bedroom in the triangle? It sounds like a great place to live. Again, thanks for the information.

Hmmm. I can't recall the names of all the streets, they branch off of the Crofton Parkway, which is a bit of a misnomer. The "parkway" is actually a residential loop with sidewalks that people jog, bike, run on. I think the speed limit is 25 mph. Anyway, find a map of Crofton and you'll clearly see a triangle formed by Rt 3, Rt 450, and Rt 424. Everything inside that Triangle is considered the Crofton Triangle.

There is a mix of townhouses and single family homes. I went over to a real estate website and looked at the homes for sale that I know for sure are in the Triangle and they started around $550,000. However, I did see one listed by an agent that is off Eton Way (clearly in the Triangle and considered "desirable" b/c of proximity to golfcourse) for $479,900. Not sure why its so much lower than other houses. Again, just my completely unofficial guesstimate. I don't know about the townhomes in the Triangle--haven't seen any for sale for awhile.

I haven't noticed any for sale by owner, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. The local paper is capitalonline.com. Technically Annapolis, but covers Crofton neighborhoods as well so maybe there are some FSBO's listed there. Also, a local magazine started by a realestate agent called Suburban scene that has lots of local info. www.suburbanscene.net - Home

Hope this helps.

That is very helpful. Thanks! I will look at suburban scene, check into the house off Eton, and try capitalonline. Thanks again!
