I'm going to be taking the 13 down through Maryland on the way to Virginia. I'll be w/ 2 kids ages 9 & 6. Just wondering if there are any 'must see/do/eat/experience' places along that highway that aren't too far off the beaten track (like 20 minutes or less)?

Thanks.

Do this. When you get to Dover, Del., hop on 113 south, which paralells 13 but closer to the ocean. When you enter the town of Berlin, MD, make a left on Assateague Rd (Rt. 376) and go to Assateague National Seashore where your kids can see wild ponies and play on the beach.

That sounds wonderful, but we are going to cross over from south jersey to Lewes by ferry. I'm looking for something south of Lewes.

What HandsUp suggested IS south of Lewes. It's only Dover that is north. Rt 113 is easy to get to from Lewes, just take Rt 24 to where it intersects 113, and head south. It's only about an hour to Berlin. If you do get to Berlin, Md, take a good look at the town. This is where Runaway Bride was filmed!

AH, gotchya. Yes, I'm a bit tired today so I missed the whole bit about Berlin. LOL.

Thanks very much. I had seen on-line about the Frontier Town amusement park that is nearby. How is that place?

Haven't been there since I was a kid, but I'm certain it will be closed until Memorial day.
