Hello Eastern Shore Parents! My husband & I are thinking of moving our family (us & our 2 daughters, 3 & 8 years old) to the Eastern Shore area this summer. He has a good job prospect in the area but I'm interested in more information from a Mom's perspective.

From researching online, we are looking at the Easton area but are open to any suggestions on the best places to live around that area. I would also like to know which you recommend/avoid: preschools, school districts, pediatricians, dentists, dance schools, gymnastics classes, & any other "mom" advice you can give me about the area that will help us make this decision.

We are coming from a relatively small city (population 45k) & are used to having stores close but not being in the city itself, we would like to find something similar. Preferably an area where the houses are not on top of each other but close enough for the kids to walk to see their friends.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!
Kristin

I think that describes Easton really well. I'll let the locals answer your other q's.

I would say that Easton is what you are looking for. I have lived on the Eastern Shore for almost 8 years now, and I have started falling in love with it. It was a big change for my family and I when we moved here, but I have nothing bad to say about it now. Easton has a beautiful downtown area, plenty of places to eat, and everyone is friendly. It is the perfect place to raise kids. Most houses have plenty of space between other homes, and the schools are moving positively in the right direction. I hope you enjoy Easton as much as I and the rest of the people living there do.
