As it is I cannont even get to school (Towson, the 2nd largest in the state) using rail. Nor can I get to work using rail. I certainly can't go from one to the other even by bus. To go from home to school, or from home to work I'd have to take no fewer than 3 bus lines, waiting at each stop (most of which aren't even covered) and likely taking over 90 minutes each way vs. 20 minutes by car.

Buses however, are slower than the regular traffic. If it doesn't get me off the road there's no point. Might as well fight the beltway anyway since even that is faster. Now if we had more of a rail system....

Also at $3+ a round trip on the bus, my fuel efficient car is only a slight cost increase for a round trip either to work or school (or better yet both), even at almost $4/gallon. If gas is at around $2.50 (or hopefully less) I'm saving money in addition to time.

More lines.
More stops.

The reason you don't see people on the light rail, and even fewer on the metro is because they really don't go anywhere and unless you live very near the line and everything you want to do is along it as well it doesn't make sense to use them.

Monthly and/or Yearly passes would be nice too. With discounts for Students, Veterans, and Retired persons.

Are you reading this ye wonderful elected officials? Just put the money up and it'll pay for itself.
from where what is ur origin?? to get to towson???

With a lot of people, the want is there. The dependability and speed is not.

OK, my daily commute is about 60-80 minutes on transit, door to door. It's only 6 miles. ???

Our buses make too many stops. Not enough express/limited routes. no coordination of transfers (such as, if I get off the No 36 at Belvedere and Alameda, and 44 traveling on Belvedere has a green light, it isn't going to wait for the passengers who just got off the 36 even though the next 44 is 45 minutes away).

The 44 needs a limited stop, immediately. And for heavens sake, the 3. It stops every 10 feet.

The 40 quickbus is usually pretty good ... but often not following any sort of schedule. I've been made late to work many times because of missing buses. See, the MTA doesn't count buses that are removed from schedule as late. So they can inflate their performance.

The MTA is better than it was, but I still wouldn't consider them to be "listening."

They've been talking about the 43 for 2 years. I will believe it when it doesn't take me 25 minutes go get to the inner harbor from my home 3 miles north.

The 150 does not go to my worksite.

Do you actually live in Baltimore?

I already take it, but sometimes I drive because it's faster. HOV lanes on 50 for buses inside the beltway would make it a no brainer though.
