I don't like the term redneck. I find it offensive and I'd wish that she'd stop using it. It's not cute or funny. Even if you don't think so, I believe you are so much more than that negative connotation that that term paints. How about we all just consider ourselves people instead of negative labels?
My name is FM, nice to meet ya!

A redneck to these people is a person that lives in the country and believes green landscape is better than concrete landscape...basically it's a dumb hick..one that listens to country music, makes no money, knows the value of a dollar, likes Nascar---of course I don't,...lets put it this way.. any person that doesn't live in a McMansion or eat organic food (even though organic is a big ole ploy) and doesn't work for the federal government and has a pick me up truck is a redneck.....does this answer your question??? I could keep going....I called myself a redneck because I would rather be considered that than some stuck up liberal who lives in the ME generation

Hmmm, thanks. I guess you have partly answered my question but I'm still not sure. First, can anyone be a redneck or is the term confined to a particular religion or racial group. For example, I am a Roman Catholic, can Catholics be rednecks? Jews? Muslims? Atheists? What about race? Does a redneck have to be white or could it be a black or asian or hispanic? You mention not eating organic food, McMansions, not working for federal government, and driving a pickup truck. (If a pickup truck is not necessary, what is the best car a person could have and still be a redneck?) Does a redneck have to meet all these criteria? You say "makes no money" what is the maximum income to still be a redneck? Are there required political opinions.
To the person, who raised the concern, I am not planning on calling anyone a redneck. Am I right, Carebear, that this is a rude way to refer to someone else although people can use it to describe themselves. You say "dumb hick," is there an amount of education that disqualifies someone from redneckdom.

The only way the government knew about Mike Vick was by raiding his property. Why not raid this guys house as well. We know he is telling the media he have innocent tapes of children but yet he also mention how much he loves children and is not ging to stop video taping children but only in a innocent way. The FBI only thought Vick was promoting dog fight. Which is he said she said but here we have a guy telling folks he have video tapes of children and that is no kind of evidence.
So you are telling me someone who goes on National television to mention how much they love children and they are not going to stop video taping children is not good enough to raid this guys home. The only way they are going to find evidence is by serving this guy with a warrant and search his home.

You have to have probable cause to search someone's home. Unfortunately, video taping children in a public place is not illegal, neither is thinking about them in a romantic way. They'll be watching him very closely- eventually they'll get him, and it'll proably have to do with his internet use. Is this guy in MD? Anyone know where I can read up on him? I'd like to follow the story.
As for Vick, I'm sure that whatever probable cause and evidence they have has not all been released to the public. Prosecuters don't put their entire case out before trial- it could lead them to a mistrial, or change of venue. I think that for them to arrest such a highly visible celebrity and role model, they must have had good reason to do it. If he's really innocent, he should be able to prove it. All the defense has to show is reasonable doubt- the prosecution has to prove their case.

Frederick for instance.lets see a woman sitting out in her car with her 1 yr old waiting on her hubby and a drunk comes up and tries to steal her baby...and this is in "historic Frederick" that everyone just RAVES about. Trust me it's nothing to be proud of. Overpriced rowhouses that all these investors bought and put some siding on the asbestos siding and Home Depot fixtures in the house..viola u now have double or triple the cost. I want to know what convience you are paying for in Frederick?? Years ago this was a nice country county, NOT NOW!!!!!!!!! I can count on one hand how many times I have been to Monkey County in all my 36 years of life in Maryland. and I won't be venturing there anytime soon.

What do you mean by Monkey COunty? i think i have an idea but do you have the guts to say what you really mean?

She`s just uninformed and stuck in her old ways. These people are brain washed day and night by the media and from the oppression and advantage that they took back in the day. Wish they would try to do what they did i nthese days. There would sure be some trouble. They do it in different ways thought but as we see they are also feeling the bad end of the financial and econimc stick so we cna`t feel bad about our people only. There are many others that are faced with the same problems as us. Don`t worry though, in the year 2050 I will still be alive to see what AMERICA as some know it won`t be the AMERICA they thought was goign to stay the same and will not be the AMERICA we know it as today and nobody can`t do anythign about it but just deal with the punches. OH YEA!!!! I`m not racist but just stating the facts.
