If you're done, then quit asking me questions, because everytime you "just want to know" I'm going to respond. So I repeatedly bring up DC and it gets old just like Ocean City? I've only mentioned Ocean City once.

Maryland is so ghetto, I cant wait til I move to tennessee. The price of everything is so fricken high. The crime rates are astronomical. Maryland cops are nothing more then meter readers with a ****. All they do is ticket people for everything to increase state incomes and their commisions on tickets. Ive had thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment stolen off my work truck. I call them to come out, they dont, they just ask for a list of what was stolen over the phone. Yet 5 days later my wife gets pulled over cause the cop couldnt make out her year sticker on her car, 3 more cops come along behind him as backup, while all this time shes pulling into our driveway with our 3 kids in the car.Just 1 example to show where their priorities are. Almost all city neighborhoods are fitted with police department video camaras so they dont have to patrol the streets to keep them safe. Do these camaras work, yes some, did capture a woman abduct a child, they followed the woman to her house via police camara from an office. They were even so proud of these camaras they even stated on the news, it frees more cops up to keep the highways safer. Then everyone wonders why the crimerate is so high lol. Yes the eastern shore is nice, but then again you have Sallsbery and everything around it. A woman in Ocean City with 4 dead children in her house. Not to mention Ocean City gets worse crimewise every year.

All I can say to all of this is that CareBear1970 must be my twin that people have in this world. I agree with everything she has to say, I presume she. I am very proud to say I am redneck and I will proudly show it off. Oh and by the way Northern Md would also include carroll county and the only land left there may be one small town of Silver Run and the 21158 zip code. Otherwise, it is house on top of house and traffic that sits in gridlock, now that is an ideal way of living, yup.

Don't complain LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!! It makes no sense to complain about a few fallacies that you find in every city across the country. You don't mention all the educational, professional opportunities or neat interesting restaurants, shops, people you get to meet and experience. The region is what you want it to be and if you don't like it do us all a favor and leave.9 million people live between Bmore and Nova and you expect them to all be fine upstanding citizens???? You show me a time in history where all 9 million citizens were perfect???????? Enuff......

md to nc...yup im a she...and I'm glad someone else has my views....zippy7fo..my whole point was once you live here all your life there is NOTHING else to enjoy....u can only do so much here after getting bored....and there are other states that have awesome educational and professional opportunities...and like I said before, unless you work for the fedgov, county gov, or state gov, you cannot afford to live in this "glorified overpriced" state...they don't pay the average worker anything...like i also said before...if i would stay in Maryland I am heading to Garrett County up with the rest of the rednecks...their laws aren't even the same up there like the rest of Maryland..its like it fell off the face of the earth...they even have the old speed limit signs like they used to here and IM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE LAKE AREA!!!!!!!!!!!

Jcarr: You mention Maryland is ghetto thats why you are moving to Tennessee. Well I guess you have never been to Tennessee before its the state of no opportunity. My husband is from Tennessee and everyone he knows all school mates, family and friends all complain how their are no jobs except FedEx which is the largest and only company that have the largest employment. People leave Maryland think their is better out there and then they realize their is no better. Maryland is the land of opportunity. The reason why cost of living is high in Maryland is because we have a high income rate so the income match the cost of living. If you move to Tennessee cost of living is cheap average home is around 100k but you will make no money. Although Tennessee cost of living is so cheap they have the second foreclosure rate behind Detroit. My husband is from Tennessee and they are back wards. Hous eis so cheap and people would rather rent then buy. tennessee is the renting state. When ever we visit Tennessee all we hear is complaints on how expensive it is and how no one have money they are always broke but yet the cost of living is so low I would expect people to have more then we do in maryland. Tennessee is very slow pace I can only stay their for one day. I love Maryland its the state of opportunity. i know alot of folks who donot work for the Government and is still making a good living. The people who are complaing maybe you should move out of the State of you donot like living here but I know one thing my family is not going anywhere.
Maryland is the money making state. I think majority of the folks in Maryland own their own business. Maybe you donot know how to make money. Maybe you are not as smart as the other folks who are successful that can start a business and live the Maryland life. If folks want to live here they would have to either own a business, work for the government,or have a good education with a degree that can make a lot of money because not every college degree attracts money such as teaching.

An interesting fact -- only 8.6% of workers in Montgomery County, and about the same percentage in Prince George's County, are employed by the Federal Government. It is a myth that most people here work for the government.
