People leave Maryland think their is better out there and then they realize their is no better. Maryland is the land of opportunity. The reason why cost of living is high in Maryland is because we have a high income rate so the income match the cost of living. If you move to Tennessee cost of living is cheap average home is around 100k but you will make no money. Although Tennessee cost of living is so cheap they have the second foreclosure rate behind Detroit. My husband is from Tennessee and they are back wards. Hous eis so cheap and people would rather rent then buy. tennessee is the renting state. When ever we visit Tennessee all we hear is complaints on how expensive it is and how no one have money they are always broke but yet the cost of living is so low I would expect people to have more then we do in maryland. Tennessee is very slow pace I can only stay their for one day. I love Maryland its the state of opportunity. i know alot of folks who donot work for the Government and is still making a good living. The people who are complaing maybe you should move out of the State of you donot like living here but I know one thing my family is not going anywhere.
Maryland is the money making state. I think majority of the folks in Maryland own their own business. Maybe you donot know how to make money. Maybe you are not as smart as the other folks who are successful that can start a business and live the Maryland life. If folks want to live here they would have to either own a business, work for the government,or have a good education with a degree that can make a lot of money because not every college degree attracts money such as teaching.
Agreed on having to be your own boss, I am, Im a self employed Home Improvement contractor.

"Marriott...ooh working in a dirty hotel....wow Johns Hopkins...working around a bunch of sick people....Discovery Channel....gee a stupid cable channel. i bet you've never even been to maryland"
LOL this is sooooo funny. I love reading this thread!

Why would anyone want to see a black bear walking around. Their is nothing beautiful about looking out your window and seeing wild dangerous animals that is know ti kill humans. Maybe you need to stand in front of the bear and tell the bear how beautiful it is so we donot have read no more of your post.

That was painful to read...
I find it amusing that someone who tries to cry out about the injustice of the perception that PG County is the other armpit of the state of Maryland (Baltimore City being the first) complains about the "dangerous man eating black bear that needs to be destroyed as part of the axis of evil"...
Never mind that even out in Western MD there's been people and bears living together for years. Just respect them, and don't do anything dumb, and they wouldn't bother you...
"Wild dangerous animals"...
Like the wannabe thugs in PG County that go around killing because you did something to their baby's momma?

The more people from P.G. post the better. The low quality of their posts speaks volumes about that area and is the perfect example; it replaces the need for arguments against the county because they are the best bad representatives of the county ever. LoL.

Um ok...wooooooo a zoo where an animal is cooped up...yeah thats a life..ok explain to me this..if most people dont' work for the federal government than why does the roads mysteriously have no traffic on them when there is a FEDERAL holiday??? hmmmm I would like to know...I make a decent wage, and I have a college education, but I still can't afford to live here. I don't make a 6 figure salary. My money has to pay for daycare and other expenses. I am not a fool to pay these kinds of prices that these people want for houses. For the same place in Vegas, you can rent a huge 3000 sq. ft. house in Summerlin for about 1800..here you get a 3bdrm shack for that that is ony about 1400 sq ft. My husband makes great money and guess what we still can't afford it. Why don't u all leave this state and make it more affordable for the ones that are originally from here?? hmmm

I guess also the "scheduled" hunts for the overpopulated deer are ok so all u yuppies can say I got me a deer. Yeah well if you stop building your 5500 sq. ft. McMansions that you can't afford to furnish than maybe you wouldn't see so many deer. I luv all wildlife and animals. I would rather look out my windown and see a black bear or any other bear for that matter than my neighbor sitting in their bedroom because my house is so close to them. And also, you all don't enjoy seeing things like this than why do you and your family invade fairs and go to the petting zoo?? wooooooooo u got to pet a cow but than when you walk thru the animal barns you sit there and complain about the smell..or better yet u go to a zoo, spend a boocoo amount of money on looking at animals thru a cage...i don't understand you all

Are you now saying that the ZOO is a rediculous idea? Some people prefer to admire wild and potentially dangerous animals from a safe distance. And last time I checked, admission to the National Zoo was free...

This thread may go on and on but the fact remains that some people will be miserable, regardless of WHERE they live.
