Default best times to drive from N NJ to AberdeenMD APG area?

Hi, a few of us need to do a temporary roughly weekly commute to and from NJ to Aberdeen MD, in the APG area.

If driving South from the Morris County area, would anyone on this list have advice on best route and best times to leave and return in terms of traffic optimality and anything else? Weve tried this on a Sunday/Wednesday but the timings we need to be in the area are roughly tuesday-thursday with some flexibility as to when we get in

The GPS in use wasnt great, and though we tried to stick to the NJTP /95 we got routed onto 202/206 and other obviously suboptimal routes.

thanks
W.

route is I-95.
best time would be when the weather is clear and there are no accidents.

It depends on what you want to do? For Work? the NJ Turnpike is the pits at any time and can be stuck in traffic for hours especially around exit 7 - 8 because of construction. Normally to get from Exit 11 to Aberdeen proving ground takes about 2-1/2 to 3 hours in clear weather with no accidents and rush hour traffic. The best way to come is NJ turnpike to Route 95. There is around about way to get past one of the tolls Delaware / MD border but that will take an extra 15 minutes or so.... I don't recommend taking any other route because it gets confusing... NJ turnpike to Delaware Memorial bridge and follow 95 south - take exit 85 of route I-95 in Maryland make left onto Route 22 South - will take you into APG about 2 miles. We moved from Central NJ to Port Deposit and my hubby commutes to APG daily... Have a safe trip...

Default Key for success

We moved from Morris County to Elkton, MD and have done this trip many times. The key to success is to navigate the NJ Turnpike successfully. We have found that as long as you are travelling between the hours of 10am and 3pm, you will be fine. The one exception is beach weekends; Saturdays get busy southbound and Sundays are busy northbound.
