A. C. A. is on a distinguished road
Here is my story: I was invited to the siminar and it SEEMED right. I'm not stupid but I was invited by someone that I trusted!!!! I paid my 5K to enter the program a week later and was assigned a realtor. I was told that the realtor "Knew the program" and that I was in good hands. The realtor was one of the most professional people that I've met. I turned over my salary information to the realtor etc... and I was told that I qualified for around 500K. He showed me a house weeks later that I liked and the house was in the upper 600's. He told me thatI could actually qualify for the house and guess what... about 2-3 days later, I was good. I told him that I didn't have the money for closing and it was rolled up into the price (inflated). The appraisers came in and within 15 minutes I was golden. He told me that he had talked with my MDH rep and we were set (they talked all the time). My wife had our first child a couple of days later and I went to closing following her coming home. I was contacted by my rep hours after I closed and was told that she should have been there and that the realtor screwed up. Then the promises started coming. She told me that she could lose her job over this and that WE would fix it. I was turned down by many financial instutions because they said my income didn't support it and the appraisal had to be wrong! I AM A SOLDIER AND I WOULD NEVER SUBMIT FALSE INFORMATION INTENTIALLY!!! Then she referred me to someone to get me financed and after paying him $600 with no results months later.... I knewI had been GOT! So, I have been paying my mortgage on time but... my savings is depleting fast!! I'm not the most "real estate savvy" person, but if I had known that this was some BS I would have ran fast!!!!! Now I'm in a fix!! That is the basis of my situation with other details of MDH left out for court if I have a case.

A.C.A., first let me say (from a former soldier), sorry to hear of your situation.

Question: I am assuming (reading your post) your house was purchased with the MDH rep absent; this is the reason why MDH did not get the 50k? They (MDH) wants you to refinance to get MDH on the docs?

Yes, the MDH rep was absent because the realtor forgot to inform her that I was closing . I did not contact her because she told me to listen to him because he "knew" the processes of the program. Yes, they are still trying to get on the docs.

I am not an attorney, but this is fraud and you could also be liable. BTW, this has been MDH's "Modus Operandi" ; therefore, you are not alone.

Currently, since MDH is in legal limbo, I would probably consult an attorney and not sign anything, or answer any phone calls. You might want to change your phone number. One concern I have with MDH is they could sale (to pay for legal costs) their portfolio to another sleazy company and get VICTIMS for any monies owed. Also, their portfolio could end up transferring through several hands before the statue of limitations is up for the owed debt.

In regards to you not being able to afford your monthly mortgage: If your mortgage balance is way above the market price of your house, you might want to contact your mortgage company and see if the deed can be turned over to them. The caveat is you will be liable for the difference when the house is sold. Also, go to CreditBoards.com - Credit Help, Credit Repair Tips, News, Forums and ask about the "Short Sale" option. They have professionals that can give you some good advice.

One thing you have to carefully consider (being a soldier), if you have a clearance any decision I mentioned above could damage your credit and affect your clearance. Your counsel needs to be aware of this.

Damn. I'm sorry to hear of this too. MDH messed up big time with your case.
They want you to refinance to get the 15% out of the house, thats all they want. If I were you, I'd put it on the market asap.

I have been following the Metro Dream Home threads and it makes me sick to my stomach to see so many people involved in this scam. Some who needed relief from their mortgage and others who were just greedy. As a Northern Virginia Real Estate Agent and a former Soldier, I can't tell you how this type of action affects our business. When I decided to become a Real Estate Agent, my goal was to educate our folks to the fact that we can own homes. Our mentality has always been that we can't afford to buy. Now look whats going on. Realtors, Loan Officers, Appraisals and Settlement Attorney has clearly lost their mind and everyone affiliated should go to jail. Under the Virginia Law Regulations in Virginia that we fall under, we can be fined or do jail time for anything. Misrepresentation is a big issue and I believed most of the folks in Metro Dream Homes was misrepresented from the top to the bottom and I thank God I was not a part of this. I don't know how they can sleep at night knowing that they have put folks homes in jeopardy which can cause their jobs, their homes, marriages etc. I know everyone is waiting on the hearing for Metro Dream Homes, but if this is going on in MD, then someone need to contact the Maryland Association of Realtors. This will at least stop the Realtors from being a part of these stinking scams.

I am wondering the same thing. I checked PACER and there were no court documents for the 19th.

Sorry to hear your plight; I hope you successfully disentangle yourself from this mess and soon. But I'm a little confused here -- exactly what is your contractual agreement with MDH given that you have not 'invested' any money (other than the $5000 registration fee) with them yet, and have been paying your own mortgage since you closed escrow on the property? Is the 'company' listed as co-owners on the deed of the property? As for the loan qualification part, you are right in suggesting that if they falsified information to get you qualified without your knowledge or consent, then for sure they could be liable. Talk to a lawyer.
