Re-foundingMother, welcome to the thread. I hope you eventually get the help that you need. Can you elaborate on your connection to MDH and how your life has been "destroyed"? It was not clear to me whether you have been affected personally by them or swindlers like them.
Regarding the broader issues/problems you raised this thread is narrowly focused on MDH so you may want to start a new thread on those issues. Thanks for your input. |

Re-Founding Mother:
WOW! Dynamite 1st post. After I re-read a few times I may comment, but for the record, I am the guy screaming its NOT about the MORTGAGES! Not yet anyway. Ralph Number crunching aside, ever heard of a Liar Loan? In the past few years, lending standards have gotten so loose, its a perfect trap for schemes like MDH. Lending institutions have assumed that credit quality doesn't matter if you treat the loan like a hot potato and sell it off before their fingers get burned. But there I digress. The mortgage issue is HUGE and very complicated, but its only indirectly related to this relatively simple securities case. The state has a task force dedicated to mortgage abuse, so maybe they have the balls to go after the large mortgage companies that have participated. I think BB&T is trying to get out of the path of that train |

I guess I am still responding to the idea that the victims are totally innocent. I think I originally believed that and of course, they did not *intend* to defraud or trick anyone. But if you only make $70,000 a year (only?) and sign up for a mortgage of $3000 or more, you were only kidding yourself. Of course I hold MDH and principals accountable for their scam and fraud on the housing market. I think they need to go to jail for quite a long time. I also hold all of the co-conspirators accountable for ignoring the many warning signs that they were getting their clients involved in a massive scam. I think that they also need to be punished and I am not sure that losing their jobs is enough. But I also think the victims need to bear some responsibility for not reading, not understanding and not really caring what was in the contracts that they signed. I know people who are not especially smart and they are very aware of it. But they would not have been duped by a program like this. They are at least smart enough to know that they need to seek advice of professionals or trusted friends and follow it. My friend's roommates lost $2,000 in their MDH debacle. I don't know if that money was part of a payment to MDH or if it was part of the earnest money paid on the house purchase that was subsequently canceled. They would have done better if they had listened to my friend (and theirs) in the first place. But in the end they were smart enough to realize that this was a scam. Of the many victims who fell for this scam, why did they not realize what it really was? My point about the loan was that they should have *known* that they were lying to an extent that they could have never been able to pay the mortgage if MDH failed. Any they should have known that even if MDH was not a scam, it was a serious reach for a profitable company. I would have taken out a no-doc loan myself in order to buy property at one time. But I would have never lied to such an extreme that I would not have been able to pay the mortgage. Just to make one point clear, not everyone who was a victim of the MDH scandal got in over their heads in debt. That is really a separate issue. You can't hold MDH responsible for people's reach exceeding their grasp. Those people who can continue to pay their own mortgage will have only lost the money they gave to MDH, not their homes. |

I don't see how you can read everything that I wrote and come up with me having a personal issue with what's his name. I thought that my last post made it very, very clear that I blame everyone involved in the MDH scandal including the victims in their own way. So how do you see that as my being "scorned" or having "too much animosity"? I see Williams as a two time loser of a rip-off artist. I don't see many here who disagree with me that this guy has done a lot of harm and needs to go to jail, ALONG with all of his co-conspirators. I am not singling Williams out in any way. Heck, he is not even the only member of MDH who has previously been caught with his hand in the cookie jar! So why do you want to make this out to be something personal between Williams and myself? Just to make it totally clear, I am saying Williams should share a cell with Larry Bland. Now, does that make it more even handed? I don't think I have seen you post before. So I might ask what interest you have in this affair? Have you invested any money in the program? Do you know anyone who had invested money? Why are you here??? The "not so quick" answer is... that I am an entrepreneurial consultant and sales and marketing and advertising trainer who also invests in real estate and a number of other "make your own living" multiple streams of income. 20 months ago, I stumbled across an ad in the Wash Post classified for RE investing. I met Andy Williams and he wanted someone on board with his new company with the real business and real estate investing experience I discussed and was excited about. He also was building his Cafe of point of sale equipment and services and the "real estate investing" was not a line of business according to him at the time but simply a means to an end of the POS and Digital Advertising other real businesses. (which wouldn't one hope that the SEC is investigating securities fraud on the other businesses first? the real estate is taken out in peoples own names and they live there or can rent investment property)
I'm using the word "destroyed" because while most people are focusing on the 950 (give or take) home owner investors that willingly put money into "programs" to make money, there are at least about 200 people and small business owners that pursued the legitimate side of the businesses that were created to earn money based on merits of work. The insidious nature of this whole debacle is that the people like me who consulted MDH and who were "paid" some money to consult or work on real business development and real ways to accomplish goals of what the investors "thought" they were investing in, and actually spend time and research on effective business planning and or real estate investing in an educational or "association" style (like perhaps Washington REIA or Real Estate Investing | Start Learning Today!) only to find out that plans and good sense and ancillary companies created were never used as suggested and were specifically perverted and changed to something else after the initial ideas were sold to them. (and I mean sold as in invoiced for services and having to perform debt collection on contracted services with wait times of sometimes 30 days, 60 days etc. for payment if it came at all) The greed took over for only part of the group. We can't forget that these "investors" are people with ideas and interests and the "employees and consultants" are real people who more than likely don't have (and I can say for sure in my instance) the greedy motives but have real interest in helping people navigate the "new, new economy" as Tom Peters called the world of work several years ago, and there are a lot of new rules of business and engagement and investing and earning a living as well as creating retirement wealth. So an example of what I meant by "destroyed" is that as a consultant who's primary client for many months is more than likely now criminal suspect, what do I put on my resume going forward? How should I explain my life's work? How do I do "debt collection" for real invoices of work created that were never paid for? How do I walk away from business that I specifically designed to teach people to fish instead of handing them a fish or selling them a fish yet those ideas and work services have not been paid for? and those underlying investors who foolishly turned over fiduciary responsibility for their own investment dollars really wanted to be taught to fish yet are being denied the fishing lesson because they don't even know it's been sanctioned? Like I wrote yesterday, there are legitimate ways to do all the things people thought they were doing with MDH but yet the greedy principles are unfortunately controlling the delivery and payment of those things and they have fiduciary control over "stuff" that they are really only entitled to association and referral control. And that makes it a business problem as well as a real estate mortgage problem. I'm also trying to make the point that small businesses sold to (example the restaurant owner in Cathy Jett's article) are just as much victims of the scam but in a more systemic way in that it may not just include where they live but include how they earn their money and how they spend their time (another extremely valuable asset "time" which is being systemically exploited). (I'm not articulating this very well or very succinctly, but believe it or not articulation and brevity were much better part in my life before I was "destroyed" and so I am also proving my point by this confusion.) For another example of one hand not knowing what the other is doing, someone who had a separate company, an ad agency and other small business (computer consultant and internet marketer for example) actually spent time and money and sales effort acquiring customers for a digital delivery network and advertising medium of one ancillary business that POS Cafe created (POS CAfe was first before MDH; that is why I referred to possible "racketeering" in my last post). The ad agency that wants to continue to sell advertising services is really hurt by the contamination to the market place and loss of confidence of current clients of a large Digital Advertising Network (which is what MDH principles insist is what investors were using their $$ investment for) yet not producing real ads or selling real space or real ROI numbers, but is selling imaginary-fully--developed-perfect-world scenarios of how Digital Advertising works which is again inaccurate and surreal in the marketplace and this is COMPLETELY relevant to the mortgage posts, not a separate thread... MY POINT THAT IS SO INARTICULATELY BEING STREAMED HERE IS THAT NONE OF THE REAL ESTATE STUFF HAPPENED IN A VACUUM AND THAT THESE COMPANIES HAVE DESTROYED REAL BUSINESSES AS WELL AS DISCOLORING AND CONTAMINATING SEVERAL INDUSTRIES AS WELL AS THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY HAD DIFFERENT MOTIVES FOR SIMILAR OBJECTIVES AND WHO ACTUALLY "WORKED THERE" WITH ETHICS AND INTEGRITY. Back to the "short answer" or actually, there is no short answer. I'm sorry. I need to talk to the AG or the SEC directly and I need an attorney representative to do that safely. Or if the other professional law enforcement people I have already spoken to can "recognize" my post, can you send me a sign of who to talk to next? Can anyone reading this help with getting a professional (albeit more articulate less emotional) representative to help me continue this revolution? Is there a Human Resources professional reading any of this? Is there a civil rights or women's rights activist reading this? Is there another person out there who feels like I do that we have to stand up to corporate bullies corporate threats to our making honest livings? And we have to do it before we're ENRON look-alikes?? I am not apologizing about being a child of the sixties and I am also not burning my bra today. But unlike the people who sat back and watched a man be tasered at a John Kerry speech and decided they would "rise up" in a blog to help a cause, I really want to do something else with this particular social injustice. And the sad news is that I can't do this alone and protect my daughter at the same time. We've actually been threatened by these people as well as the fraud of unpaid invoices for legitimate services rendered so I have been financially wiped out. Sure I would have called the AG on August 16th if I had known about any of this. But like I said this issue is systemic to the point that my "bill collection" efforts of the last 8 months have been completely separate and not even aware of the housing issues and mortgage investor problems and I never even saw the WashPost articles and other accusations until after labor day and also just found this forum couple days ago. Some of the investors that I talk to everyday are still enamoured with the "programs" and working on ROI and their own portions of what they think is legitimate business. and are still perhaps embarrassed by their decisions so hesitate speaking out. The real costs of exploitation and hiring the wrong people to do the wrong jobs is extremely tragic in some cases and long recovery time with due process and confidence rebuilding is a real process that takes a real toll on human lives. I must go work on something else, I am not a victim here, I am simply going thru the process of fixing this social injustice and asking for help where appropriate. And, unfortunately I'm gabby... what can I do about that? ![]() If anyone can recommend attorney or some professional to edit my speeches so I can effectively talk to authorities, please let me know. Thanks. Quote:

RE:Re-founding Mother
WoW! I am truly sorry about your situation, but it sounds to me that if you and your daughter are being threatened by these people, you are victims. Are you saying you have gone to the authorities with this and they are not doing anything? |

Thank you for the general post of contacts because it was not seen on this forum and I've not been to the other one.
I have already contacted 6 of the 9 sites' info and agencies you listed and I am still waiting for slow cogs to turn. I've interviewed with law enforcement who tell me to go handle the civil stuff and don't do any investigative work, and then the civil stuff "people" say just move on, cut your [very large] losses (even without having done something wrong) and try to rebuild (basically don't swim with the sharks unless you can be one). I refuse to think that I can't build a legitimate business and fight white collar crime and market contamination at the same time. And I'm not suggesting it should be easy or fun, just safely smartly do-able. While I am doing the "try to rebuild" thing, I can't walk away from this and cut losses this big. And rebuilding takes $$ too which I don't have today. And the real bottom line is the integrity of what I did create that investors never saw... that would have answered and redirected some of the concerns long ago. I will even be bold enough to say that most money wouldn't even be lost and would still be on target to paying mortgages in less than the typical 30 years, if investors were doing it themselves with some better appropriate education. And they would be given tools for financial independence building instead of irresponsible dependence and house of cards culture of entitlement mentality. all ruined because some egos and some new business builders took credit and latitude for being "new developers" or "start-up geniuses" and were lying the whole time or seduced to the dark side early on when they saw how easy and quickly people are willing to let someone else handle their money and personal responsibility. Agencies like the ones listed, let's face it, are over worked and really don't want you showing up until you're very close to dead before they help and they are never free or low cost. I don't need free or low cost but I do need resources to obtain the services and the time it takes to prepare to meet and show evidence is costly in other ways. and I'm not a deadbeat for cash even though I look like one on paper today. This is what I meant by "destroyed" earlier. But my life as a whole is great if I look at the important stuff like the health and beauty of my kid and my active brain, vision and spirit and passion for the business I've just lost all gives me the ability to rebuild well and is just around the corner. This MDH problem is like a separate but insidious problem like if your cell phone craps out while you're out of town. you cant get your other numbers, you can't call your meetings or important people, you can't check on your family or order a late night pizza or log onto the internet, or handle an emergency but it is just the cellphone and you'll fix it soon meanwhile spending the downtime figuring out creative ways to get your tasks done. I didn't say I was poor, just broke today and my attitude is still in positive gear. So this will pass quickly and we'll be great. I just want to do more and I am impatient with the rebuild process because the time elapse is so different. And the results of quicker rebuild and interview with authorities are better life and better use of time period. Anyway, I thank you for the list of agencies and I will try again. If anyone is specific attorney or legal help or if anyone is human resource professional with some conflict resolution skillset, I would love to hear from you. If anyone wants to help rebuild a small business, or underwrite a publisher's project or internet education endeavor, please contact me for 90 day money back guarantee and further details. I believe the work that I did is worth selling to someone besides criminals. So, if you want more details about some wealth building skills available in a coaching and training way without losing any control of your own money, let me know how we can help each other. Thanks. |
