VA or MD is on a distinguished road
Smile Help! Need Advice & Roommate

I have done some online research for MD and VA. I'm debating on which one would better suit my needs. I'm a grad student who is self-employed and my only child (college grad) lives with me. We want a very safe, very clean, and very well-maintained area to live in. We are quiet, private and would prefer a roommate with the same qualities. Since I spend the bulk of my time online and studying, a peaceful environment is a must.

Would someone please elaborate about the following areas in MD:

Anne Arundel Cty: Annapolis, Londontowne, Pasadena, Arnold, Odenton, Mayo, Hillsmere Shores, Selby-on-the-Bay, Crownville, Riva, Deale, Parole, Highland Beach, Serverna Park

Calvert Cty: Dunkirk, Chesapeake Beach, North Beach, Owings

In VA, which area would be best? Montgomery Cty, Howard Cty or Frederick Cty

We really don't have much money, so this would be a big factor. Would we be able to find a roommate for under $600? Would we be able to find an apartment for $850 or less?

We would prefer a roommate with a nice size house or townhouse that has a large master suite w/ private bath. We can share a room until we are able to get into our own place. Our other preferences are no pets, no kids, no substance abuse, and no party animals.

If someone is not in dire need of money, I'm more than willing to barter in exchange for reduced rent. Bartering could include housesitting; light housekeeping; cooking; writing, editing & desktop publishing services; and massage therapy since I'm a CMT.
