Default SO many questions

My husband has a possible job offer at a newspaper in Silver Spring. Now we currently live in central illinois. Our house currently is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a large fenced in back yard in a small community. It is worth roughly 100,000. This job would come with a pay increase and with our combined incomes would make right under 100,000. Is this even possible to do for us? We have 2 children who are in elementary school so this is a HUGH deal for us. I don't want to come all the way there and then be worse off then we are now. If anyone can give us some much appreciated advice I would welcome it very much. We are so confused right now and don't know what to do.

Thanks
Brandi

Don't be fooled by the pay increase. It means nothing because the cost of living is high for the region. You can actually get more money and once you do cost of living analysis, discover their paying you the same money if not less. Now you can live comfortably on 100,000 grand and youll have way more professional opportunities but just know the region is expensive and housing is painful to say the least but to me, its worth it because dC/MD/nova is a great area.......I would do some house price seeing and cost of living analysis and how that fits in long term financial picture..
