I just had to throw that out there although it is a rarity

Yeah, I forgot about last year. The clock started again, I guess.

Rarely do we have a White Christmas. That said, I remember after I moved down here from Massachusetts, there was a heavy snow storm in DC while I was watching the Veterans day activities on TV. That was Nov 11, in the late 80's. Another year my sister-in-law and her daughter came up from Florida to visit at Thanksgiving and it was the first time her daughter ever saw snow. It can happen, but it is rare and it seldom gets bad before January, to where it's hard to get around in.

Oh yeah, I remember that one well. It was 1987, and we got 11 inches of snow. What a freak storm that was!

That one defined cluster****. The Feds and schools opened on time then halfway through rush hour closed for the day. So you had people at work/school trying to get home and people not at work/school yet trying to get there.

The school I was at at the time ended up having to keep the kids overnight since the buses got stuck trying to get there.

I had taken the day off to go duck hunting and came in off the Bay about noon and the snow was just starting here. It took Mrs. NBP four hours to get home from Croom to here, about 23 miles.
