Default E. Fairmount Ave?

I'll be taking a new job in downtown Baltimore next month. I'm new to the city and am looking at sharing a house with a friend on E. Fairmount Ave between N. Broadway and N. Edin St. a few blocks away from Johns Hopkins Hosp. Can anyone tell me if this area is safe? The location is great for my job but I'm unfamiliar with the history of this neighborhood. Any information is much appreciated. Thanks!

Not exactly a nice area yet. Once JHH gets the biotech park finished in several years it probably will be.
