I grew up on New Hampshire Avenue in 20903 zip. It was PG county with a Silver Spring mailing address.

You are correct. As I myself wrote some time back - I was shocked to learn that ALL of Maryland's Takoma Park had been in Montgomery County since 1997. If anyone doubts this, I invite them to please read the history section of this link.

My mom used to live in zipcode 20912 which is Takoma Park. She recently just moved in November 2007. My neice and nephews went to Bucklodge Mddle school which is a Pg county school. Some parts of Takoma Park is still PG county.

As a firefighter in the county, I would agree to look outside of the beltway. However if you want to live in close I suggest....Greenbelt isn't too bad but they do have their problems. The Mt Ranier,Brentwood,Cottage City and Colmar Manor areas are not too bad. Just stay away from the apartment areas. Southern Prince Georges county (other side of 301) is quiet. I lived there for several years.

I never miss an opportunity to say Thank You when I cross paths with a county firefighter or police officer. I so appreciate the extremely hard work that you guys do.

I am not one for resurrecting old posts, but as a Prince Georges County teacher (educated here as well), I have to respond:
Your interpretation of these scores is wrong!! The Montgomery County scores are higher.
