Well atleast those employers do not have to worry and kkk's and kkk's burning their employee homes.

Yes, always the racist. No they don't have to worry about the kkk burning anything; they only have to worry about getting robbed, jacked, or killed by the criminals, (residents) that live there now.
Charles county residents should pay attention to what has happened to PG because the same cancer is infecting their county and will eventually infect all the counties of Southern Maryland.

Please explain what happened to the new development that was burned down my whites because the community will have blacks living in the community.
The person who did burn down these homes in Charles County said he did not want Black people living in Charles County. How about churches/schools that is majority black in Charles county that have been vandalize with racial slurs such as KKK,N word and blacks are not welcome here and also death threats as well.
These are all facts.

Good high schools? Look at Laurel, Bowie and Douglass. And those three could be better if Roosevelt, Flowers and Oxon Hill didn't cherry pick the best kids. One of the reasons PSAT/SAT scores lag is because the philosophy of the system, and it's there for political reasons, is that all students are college bound and therefore are going to take the tests. That's crap but it makes parents feel good.
Do PG schools have problems? Oh yes-1/2 the students in the system overall are on free lunch, some schools have 200% turnover of students a year so there's no consistency. There is a teacher recruitment problem because of the reputation of the schools and because, quite frankly, successive school boards since the 1980's have the reputation of not keeping their promises to staff with some members being meddlers. The admin offices are filled with people who are excellent at carrying sheafs of paper but it's real hard to figure out exactly what their job is.
Rich kids go to private schools anyway, no matter the race.

You're a teacher aren't you? Or you at least work for the school system. I am an over-qualified, poorly paid teacher who works my ass off everyday but I love my job!! I agree with your posts 100% I've been on a rampage in my building lately about the meddlers and unfair practices that keep scores low and hurt the students the most but I'm not going to get on that soapbox today.

Lord people. P.g tends to have lower income because it's closer and more affordable then other counties within close proximity to D.C. So I think the schools system tend to lag behind unfortunately because of the lower income folks. Hey just to clear things up I grew up in the low income bracket. What I want to know is how you all as residents of P.G. are going to change the system. When should accountability be placed in the hands of it's residents. If you have a dysfunctional school system then why not fix it. Change doesn't occur until people are fed up. When that happens then people will take action to turn thing around. There is strength in numbers.
I've looked at a lot of developements that are in place and P.G. definitely has a future, that will rival Fairfax and Montgomery counties. While bringing business into the county is neccessary, how are you all going to fix the school system? Just a question.
I'm not a politician or community activist, but I think that the People of P.G. need to unite and help each other. It seems like when we (I'm to talking to my fellow A.A.) make it, we forget about those struggling to make it. Help this community to shake this negative image. It's in place for a reason. While I'm not for uprooting from my hometown, I have found myself doing something I never thought I would have done, that is move to a different spot. For those still in P.G. fight to make it better, fight for the people to have better. Lets not get caught up in getting that 500,000 House and driving the gas guzzling H2 or BMW 7-series. People are talking negatively about P.G. because there is some truth to it. If your fed up like I am, lets do something about it.

"facts" or not, try to keep in mind this:
Quote:
Prosecutors and defense attorneys said yesterday that the defendants were motivated by several reasons. Primary among them was Walsh's desire to make a name for his Waldorf car-racing club, The Unseen Cavaliers, they said. Others were motivated by racism or because, like Speed, whose infant son had died eight months before the arson, they felt slighted by life, attorneys said.
Attorneys for Walsh and Speed said race was not a factor for their clients. Only Parady, in his written confession, admitted to racist motives. The Justice Department's Civil Rights Division did not find enough evidence of racism to warrant hate crime charges.

Prison terms set in arson -- baltimoresun.com
I'm not claiming it was or wasn't racially motivated, but Parady, who was characterized as a habitual liar, also stated thaat he used racism as a false pretense, as well as aadmitting he had falsely implicated coworkers, friends, etc. What's true? Who knows? But it's unfair to say it was strictly a racism thing when they WERE other factors in play, and there was NOT enough evidence to even bring hate crime charges

Please just because a judge did not think it was racist does not mean anything to me.
Do you know how many guilty people were found innocent by judges? Do you know how many people who are 100% innocent was found guilty by judges? So you telling me what a judge feels has nothing to do with anything.
I feel it was a hate crime. All the new development going on in Waldorf why target the one that will have majority blacks living in the community.

I'm so sorry that happened to you here in PG County but it could have happened anywhere.
I've never been jumped and beaten but my children were just because they're good, try to do the right thing and don't follow the crowd. I pray that you and your family stay safe.

Excellent post! Everything you mentioned is what I'm all about. Yes, there are people with good jobs making good money and buying super-size homes but they are working double time and are never home with their kids. They send them to school to be disciplined. I have observed that some of the worse-behaved children don't just live in Landover, Palmer Park, Capitol Heights, and Seat Pleasant. They live in Mitchellville, Upper Marlboro, Fort Washington and Clinton.
