You're opening a can of worms here...
Recommendations from me on where you CAN go would include:
Greenbelt
Glenn Dale
Berwyn Heights
West Lanham
North Laurel
Anything about 10 miles south of 495

Default quick and easy answer

Anything outside the Beltway (which represents 75% of the county) is a given that is a safe area overall. Inside the beltway, I would stick to Cheverly, Berwyn, College Park, Riverdale, Adelphi, University Park. That's just my opinion from having lived in the County for the last dozen years. As far as violent crime goes, you will find that it mostly occurs inside the beltway in an area surrounded by Central Ave, the beltway, and the southeast DC border. I'm certain there are exceptions, but that's the general rule.

The county is putting alot of money into Suitland and forestville.
The reason why alot of people on this forum donot like PG county is because the area is majority African American.
I drive to Suitland and Forestville all the time and Anti-Blacks opinions.
I live in Upper Marlboro which is about 10mins away from Forestville and I am not scared of low income families. As you can tell aot of people on this forum are scared of lower income families but they forget they too can be any of those low income families at any time.

The most dangerous parts of PG are the areas that border SE Washington like; Glassmanor neighborhood of Oxon Hill, the iverson mall area, Kentland, Palmer Park, Landover, and Adelphi. I'm sure there are others to avoid but these are the ones i hear the most crime comes out of.
