Moving from Ohio to Maryland for a job and the officehappens to be on eastern blvd. in Essex.
I looked at some apartments on Apartments for Rent and Homes for Rent and they dont look good at all besides on apartmentsratings.com they have scary reviews about mice & pests & bugs being a constant problem. So I thought I should forget about Essex as an option and check-out the other near by cities like Rosedale. Even though the apartments in Rosedale appear much better in picture yet their reviews are not good :-(. I was particularly looking at the ROSS RIDGE apartments reviews . Not being happy with this I started looking at the 900+ range 1bdr apartments thinking that higher the price maybe bettter the quality. Take Canterbury apartments for example & that too has bad reviews. So if anyone has lived in these areas can you please suggest me some decent apartments. Am particularly concerned about adequate night-time lighting and space to safely walk around other than ofcors the interiors & a responsible management. Also not too far from groceries. |

When my husband and I relocated to Maryland about 4 years ago we first rented in the White Marsh area. Before moving we flew out here and visited our top apartment picks! Canterbury apartments was one that we looked at and we did not decide on it. We ended up with Cambridge Court. I don't know what the rent range is now, but we loved it! Close to everything ... mall, movies, stores, restaurants. The management was excellent. Buzzuto (Rent A Home | Bozzuto Homes) is the company that owns the complex and I had researched management companies before moving here and at the time Buzzuto had very good reviews and I was completely sold on them. After living in a Buzzuto place, I would admit that I thought the quality of building materials was not great... seeing as the walls would scuff or ding easily. So I would happily rent from them, but never buy. Again, management was excellent, friendly, helpful. Maintenance was 24/7 and really did their job! Ample parking. Great grounds for walking.

Essex and Rosedale are much older neighborhoods, more blue-collar and native Baltimoreans. White Marsh is very new - has grown alot in the past 5-10 years. Its mostly white-collar professionals, nicer shopping, etc. Depends on what you are looking for.
I live in White Marsh and virtually never go into Essex or Rosedale... no reason to. Instead most of what we want is in White Marsh, and if its not then we head over to Towson or Perry Hall for a change of pace, or downtown. |
