It should be noted that if you are considering the western Maryland areas described above the description governs even more so crossing north into adjacent PA or south into adjacent WV.

Carroll County, Maryland..

Also there is big money in the neighboring state of PA, primarily in Adams County. Lots of money in horse farms and horse breeding running through that area... (Hanover Shoe Farms)

You may be interested in any area between Centreville, MD to Chestertown,Md . Most people would consider that area "redneck" . Lots of farm land, horse farms, 4H Park and things of that nature. Low housing cost as well. If you commute it's about 45 minutes from Centreville,md to Annapolis, md.

Charles and St. Mary's County would probably fit the bill (I grew up there). The Woodbine area has quite a few horse farms (that's in Howard County) as does Fredrick.

Ocean City cant be defined as anything but a tourist destination. Much like the outerbanks and virginia beach there really isnt an identity since a large portion of the staff is from eastern europe during the peak season and the population is comprised of 99% tourists from all over the eastern USA.
