Question I hear this about Montgomery from people? Are they like this?

1. Everybody on the road goes 20 over the speed limit and think they own the road.

2. Customer Service is horrible.

3. No respect

4. To many cocky people in their Mercedes-Benz

5. The kids are spoiled wearing tiffany's and coach by age 12.

Response to 1- From my experience, yes, 20 mph over the speed limit on the highway sounds about right, although not everyone drives that fast. Depending on where you are from you may find driving to be a more intense experience in MoCo. Compared to NYC or parts of NJ maybe people don't seem like more aggressive drivers here. My own experience was that I had to adjust because the traffic is heavy and you cannot depend on people driving sanely in any way. I am now an extremely defensive driver. Also, a lot of people on road do not seem to be sober (even during the day), but of course MoCo is not the only part of the country to have this problem.

Response to 4 - There are a fair amount of nice cars on the road here, but that's because MoCo is a fairly affluent area. I have met plenty of people that are really nice and do not drive European luxury cars. They are regular people trying to live decently in a super-expensive area. Not that I'm one to judge, if I had to commute 3 hours/day maybe I would drive a BMW too.

If you mean Montgomery County, I would use the Mercedes Benz phrase. There is Montgomery County, and there are others. We are (if you are not aware of) the richest state in the the USA; and Montgomery ranks up there with the highest household income. So we are vain and out of touch with the rest of the world. Who really cares...If every county chose Montgomery County as their paradigm, we would not have the issues we currently have in the world (e.g., Jena 6). BTW, I drive a BENZ.

Everyone in my community drives a Mercedez Benz except my husband and I. I live in Pg county. I think they look at me and my husband as not having the same livestyle as them. I deal with credit everyday and I can tell you this majority of the folks driving a luxury cars are not wealthy.
Its so funny that folks think cars are luxury such as Mercedez Benz. When I see folks in Mercedez the first thing that comes to my mind is debt not money because the real folks with money put their money into Assets not Liabilities. I think folks who live in houses start from 1million dollars are wealthy but no tfolks who drive benz.
Donot get fooled when you see folks driving around in Benz most of them have no money.

2 weeks ago in my son gymnastic class, A new child enroll and the mother was driving a Mercedez Benz with Channel sunshades on. Her purse was louis vuitton. I was like to myself this lady must be living the life. So I am waiting on my husband and when I looked outside my husband is giving her a jump. her battery died and to find out she doesnot have any money to buy a battery and she never paid her daughter gymnastic bill. The fee was $72.00 and she never paid and never showed up again.

My wife works in MoCo a couple days a week, in retail. Really, people are people the world over. It's just in the more populated areas you will naturally run into more a-holes, but the percentage remains about the same. There are plenty of very nice folks, a few jerks, and - unfortunately - a growing amount of gangsta looking people in the city areas.

But, even in small towns, you'll have a few that think they're the cat's whiskers, the majority that are really nice, and a few hoodlums, whether youngsters getting into trouble or real punks.

well if you want to try to sterotype folks I'd say you are talking more about Potomac, which is in Montgonery Co. but that sterotype does not pertain to the rest of the county. I grew up in Mont Co and believe me it wasn't like that back then! Now of course I can't afford to live there anymore but I do still have friends and relatives there. They certainly aren't driving a mercedes nor giving their kids all the designer things. But there are some folks like that and maybe a higher percentage are in Mont Co than in other places. As to the 20 mph above the speed limit-yes, that is mostly true and I must say it happens pretty much everywhere along the beltway, not just Mont Co.I think it is safer to go about 10 over and get in the left lane to get out of their way!

Second what Iscalder said. Lots of people put money into clothes and cars around here (like many other places), because they aren't saving any money. They will rent forever because their lifestyle makes buying impossible. Also, there is a good chance that brand new Benz is leased. I have heard stories about people driving nice cars but do not pay car insurance, wow that is irresponsible!

Wow, I grew up in Montgomery County. That is not the world I grew up in, but I saw it changing before I left. Glad I have my memories.
