Default Sport's Heads: Its Time for FOOTBALL!!!!!1

Now that the NBA season is finally wrapped up, its time that my fellow sport's heads and I turn our attention to the upcoming NFL season, and what better way to do so than to give some pre-season predictions?

- who will win each Division
-what team will break out from the shadows to make the playoffs
- who will win MVP
-Who will the top 5 quarterbacks be this year
- who will go to the Superbowl
-etc.........

Reminder: This is Football we're talking bout, so sound off. Anything you want. Just keep it clean.

My prediction: The Redskins will finally break out of the shadows and reach .500 to make the playoffs as a wildcard team. I know its a stretch, but O well, im sticking to it.

Skins 7-9, the rest of the division is simply too good for them to break through this year.

The AFC North will be down after being up last year. Either the Ravens or Steelers will make the playoffs, probably at 9-7 or 10-6. The wheels could very well fall off the cart for one of these teams as old man time is eventually going to step in.

Oakland is the "surprise" playoff team, winning the AFC West, while Manning will be gun shy in the pocket, and will throw a boatload of picks as his brain hasn't adjusted to his decreased throwing velocity (it happens to all of them at the end.)

Buffalo will also be in the mix for a playoff spot coming down the stretch.

The Superbowl will be the 49ers and the Texans.

Defensive Player of the Year: Patrick Willis

MVP: Some quarterback that puts up absurd numbers.

There. No everybody knows what WON'T happen next year.

The NFC East is tough but we can beat any team in our division on any given sunday. The only team I think will give us problems is Philla. Other than that, all div games are a toss up. 8-8 this year.

You can say that about any team, but I think this year, the Redskins issues go beyond their own division. They will have to deal with the NFC South as well which includes the Saints (who are still good), the Falcons, the Panthers (Cam Newton), and the improved Buccaneers. Not to mention they will have to deal with the AFC north with Baltimore, Pittsburgh and of course Cincinnati who all made the playoffs last year. That's a tough haul to add on top of division play. If the Redskins do better than 7-9 with a rookie QB than they should consider it a very successful year and they have something to build on.

I disagree with the Texans. The lost of Mario Williams will hurt their defense. I also don't think the 49ers will have as a good a year as they did last year. I mean everything went perfectly for them, especially with health (Frank Gore). Can't imagine them replicating that, but I have been wrong before.

This is what I got based on what I see today:

NFC Division Winners: Eagles, Packers, Falcons, 49ers
Wildcard Teams: Bears, Cowboys

AFC Division Winner: Patriots, Ravens, Titans, Broncos
Wildcard Teams: Texans, Steelers

MVP: Aaron Rodgers

Top 5 QBs: Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Tony Romo, Peyton Manning

Superbowl Champions: Ravens

Mario Williams became expendable when JJ Watt was drafted. Watt is a beast, and works for much cheaper. Williams is better suited for 4-3 defense anyway, where can be a purer pass rusher and not have to worry about having 2 gap resposnibilities like most DEs have in a 3-4. Watt is perfect for the 3-4.

As for the Niners, they upgraded their receiving corp, play in a weak division, and have a GREAT young defense. Things did go well for them last year. Part of that is always luck, part is being very well coached.

Honestly though, I hope you are right and it is the Ravens! Sadly, I think last year was their window to win it all...........and d*mn Lee Evans dropped game winning catch in the end zone. The tragedy is that if Derrick Mason "loved" being a Raven so much, he could have signed for less and been the 3rd receiver instead of the washed up Evans.
