Based upon the jobs I've seen online, the Patuxant River base depends very heavily upon JSF (F-35) related work... given the cost-overruns and questionable future expenditures on that program, that region in Maryland will probably be hit hard.

Yep. As I mentioned local officials are already starting to get twitchy. JSF isn't the only egg in the basket, drones are getting a workout along with the E2D and new stuff for the F18, it's a big egg.

Franchot will win, I see no way how Brown or any of the other Dems can compete. Franchot has MoCo, Frederick and Western MD, and is appealing to the Dems that want fiscal sanity. Maryland might not get surpluses like Virginia has, but at least with Franchot at the helm, there's some hope of Clintonesque fiscal growth.

That being said, the Republicans would be wise to find a quality candidate in case a Brown or SRB ends up as the Dem nominee.

While this does suck maybe we wont get so much of an influx of people overcrowding our state. In the last decade I have seen the over crowding in some areas go from tolerable to unbearable. Fortunately we will be somewhat recession proof being near the gub'ment, but as a person who does primarily contracting for the gub'ment its not so secure or everlasting as most think.

Sure I hate to see jobs leave, but I cant help but see the silver lining as I have learned to do this over the last few recession years...just like I saw the 20% in pay cut I took late last year as: "a great way to spend time with my new family!".

As for non democrats winning, well its been proven time and time again that anything other then a democratic in office in Maryland gets held back and gimped on EVERYTHING they do...

Franchot and Gansler will split the white liberal vote (Gansler's from Montgomery, and was a very popular State's Attorney, so thinking Franchot has that County wrapped up is wishful thinking). Brown will take Prince George's and Baltimore City while remaining competitive in the other Counties. Like it or not, and I will no doubt be called a racist, he has 1/4 of the vote in the State locked up, he only has to take 15% of the rest to win. That's been the calculus for him becoming Governor since O' Malley picked him 6 years ago.

I think you got threads confused, this is one on job loss. There's already one about who will be the next Governor.

You mean Illegal Immigrants from Mexico and Central America since they(Democrats) have been trying to push them into overcrowding Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, and Baltimore.....

Is that due to most MD taxpayers being limited in common sense of knowledge in voting against the anti-Maryland Democrats?????
