Anyone have any information on Baltimore County Public Schools? I thought maybe focusing on the bigger districts might give me a better chance.

Being Math you might have a chance. Second daughter just got a 1/2 time position for Social Studies in BCPS. She lucked into it. She plans to fill her other days with subbing both where she is assigned and where she student taught (which is where she eventually wants to end up).

I am wondering if there is even time for that before school starts. I see the calendar says new teachers start this week coming up! That also kind of made me give up hope for Anne Arundel but maybe they will also be scrambling to hire people last minute like you said your last school district had.

Thank you!

Sorry....been busy.

Prelim interview, talked with principal, offer made by phone the following week. This was way early in the summer.

Do not go to Harford County. They tricked me into going there. They are 5 years behind in steps and have not gotten COLAs for I think 8 years. I honestly feel like they will never honor steps, so if you are okay with being on step 1 for the rest of your career, go for it. They will be hiring because I personally know of at least a dozen teachers at my school alone (including me) who are trying to get out. Any other county in Maryland will be better.
