Most people will likely agree that Maryland is in a transitional area between the northeastern and southeastern U.S.

But which of these two regions does Maryland fall in and identify with more? Is Maryland more like New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York? Or more like Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee?

Where's the both box? Because it's both (and Appalachian as well).

Maryland is sort of like Missouri in the sense that it is influenced mostly by the Northeast (or the Midwest in Missouri's case) with a small southern influence most of which is on the Eastern Shore/Southern Maryland or Southern Missouri.

Maryland is a beautiful mix of northeast and southeast as it spreads from ocean to mountains and all in-between. It's a tough place to categorize...and that's why it's a great place to live! We have "it all" within our state.

Maryland, in my opinion, is more like VA or NC than it is PA or Jersey.
