Default Rockville to Woodlawn

I am considering a job in Rockville, my husband works at Woodlawn off of the Baltimore beltway. Currently we live in Perry Hall, Balt. County. If we moved to split the commute more fairly, what towns offer the best commuting options? Open to southern Carroll, Montgomery, or Howard Counties. Realistic about housing costs, and our son isn't yet school age, so that's not a factor yet.

and is there no other way to use public transportation to Rockville from Baltimore other than through Union station? what's the commute time on the MARC or MARC/Metro?

thanks in advance

I don't think there are any reasonable public transit options other than through Union Station. A couple of friends are making similar commutes and I think they are in the hour-and-a-half ballpark.

If you are moving, the Mount Airy or southern Carroll County areas would be more reasonably priced than Howard or Montgomery counties.

I decided to take a lower paying job in Greenspring Valley and just stay living in the County. A nice 25 minute trip atop the beltway. I kinda knew what I'd be getting into with a commute to Rockville, but reading stuff on here clinched it. Thanks for your input!!
