We are comptemplating a relocation to Maryland, to a community within driving distance (commuting) to Edgewood. We are looking for a nice, SAFE, family-friendly community with excellence in education, great shopping and great homes (400s-500s). Are we on the right track with Bel Air?

Yes, you would do fine there in that price range.

For better answers, you might re-post your question in the Baltimore sub-forum.

Compared to Seattle, the 47 inches of annual rainfall is not a lot. It is typical of the east coast USA. But, yes, compared to Arizona it is a lot.

Yeah but as we know it's the number of rainy days, not annual rainfall, that matters. MD is about at the national average I believe in number of days.

The humidity is much worse than say parry sound, and it's hotter. Remember these names...monkton, Maryland, Jacksonville, Maryland. Price range is suitable and zoning is much better, much more protected. The drive to work a little longer but WELL worth it! Bel air, nice 25 years ago has been ruined by poor zoning laws and terrible traffic planning. Check out carol manner school near Jacksonville. From Edgewood to Jacksonville, mountain road to hess road, etc. is easy once your on to it. Jim
