Its about time. Bans never have their intended effect, whether they be drugs, sex, guns or whatever. The only thing they do is force the banned practices/items underground into the criminal realm.

The cartels don't have to move to crystal meth. It has long been a staple of their trade along with cocaine, kidnappimg, protection rackets, stolen cars, etc.

Think about it, once you are into selling large quantities of illegal drugs and into other illegal activity, what's the difference? You might as well go all the way. Also, if you had to move product between Mexico and the US, would you rather move bulky marijuana, or compact meth and cocaine?

The reason the cartels move marijuana into the US more than the other drugs is because the market for it is bigger, but they have been doing the other drugs for decades too.

Never mind the radio, do some actual research.
