For the life of me I do not understand why this is such a surprise. He is a 28 year old QB who played a huge role in his team winning the SB. Seeing as this is a QB driven league, now more than ever, what exactly did we expect to happen? As soon as that game ended this huge deal was a no-brainer.

He is the highest paid player. It may as well read highest paid player for now. It has as much to do with timing as anything else, he was simply the latest starting QB to have his contract expire. Wait a year, Aaron Rogers' deal will blow this one away. As it should

I'm not a Ravens fan, but

1. All time leader in road playoff wins
2. More road playoff wins than Brady, P.Manning and Brees combined
3. 18tds an 2 nits in last 3 years postseason
4. Better Playoff record than Peyton Manning
5. Only QB to start and win a playoff game in 1st 5 seasons
6. Only QB to have a passer rating over 100 in 4 consecutive games of a postseason
7. Most TDs without an int in a single postseason -tied with Montana
8. Most consecutive playoff games with 3 TDs - tied with Warner, Aaron Rodgers

Yeah, to say Flacco's not productive is to ignore reality. He's a solid QB and has been for the last 5 years. And now that Cam isn't play-calling, I'd be willing to bet you're going to see even bigger regular season numbers on the boards for him.
