Senate backs decriminalizing small amounts of pot - baltimoresun.com

An OK start.....should push for legalization (i.e. treating pot exactly like liquor) MD'ers.

Good.

The precedent has been set in Colorado and Washington. It will only spread from there. The sooner MD legalizes it the better, and the more benefits it will reap.

Decriminalize is first step, having a legitimate medical marijuana bill more important. Let's get this done.

Owe'Malley has dropped his opposition to MMJ. If the legislature can piece together a good bill, it'll pass.

Who cares if it is "medical" or not. I don't want a farce like they have in California.

Hence the "good bill" part. I believe it'd be something like DC's law which basically restricts it to patients with HIV, cancer, MS, glaucoma, etc as well as some special cases.

I think you're finding an ally in the wrong person. I think it should be legal, period. I do not care if other people choose to smoke pot for whatever bogus reason they choose. It is not physically addictive and if they smoke it at home, then I honestly do not care.

Does anyone know whether or not this bill stands a chance in the House? Is it likely to pass or will it get stuck in some committee?

I read somewhere that it will be met with skepticism.

But the fact of life is that people will still being doing pot whether you or like it or not.

Looks like the liberal wave continues. As if its not enough to give in state tuition and drivers licenses to illegal aliens, raise almost every tax there is including the gas tax, ban the death penalty, and take away our guns.......O'Malley is truly obsessed with his liberal crusade.
