Hello!

My son and I may move to the Baltimore area this summer. I would work in west Baltimore County, but I don't think I want to live in Owings Mills. I was considering Lutherville-Timonium, Towson, Westminster, and Cockeysville so that I could keep my commute at 30 minutes or less. However, I seem to be having trouble locating a decent rental home in the $1500-1750 range. Coming from a much lower cost of living, this is a little daunting. Does anyone have any ideas of where to find rentals (other than realtor.com)?? Is it just a saturated market? I have a dog (beagle), so the idea of living in an apartment isn't that great as I am coming from a very nice single family home with a fenced yard. I knew the change would be a downgrade, but this is becoming really difficult. Any help is very much appreciated! Thank you!

Try driving around. There are a lot of apartment complexes in the area. You may even be able to locate them on google maps and give them a call. I don't think you are going to find a reasonably priced single family home in that range, though. There aren't many houses for rent in the area, but there are complexes which allow pets.

Also, try apartments.com online.

Live closer to work, avoid the commute issues and it will also cost less than those places.
